The annual encampment and reenactment of 18th century pioneer life will be held at Site One in Oglebay Park, Route 88, in Wheeling from 10:00 to 5:00 on Saturday, August 31 and Sunday, September 1, 2019.
A highlight is the reenactment of the second siege of Fort Henry in 1782 during which Betty Zane ran from Fort Henry to her brother Ebenezer’s block house to retrieve gunpowder. She returned safely to the fort to resupply its defenders, saving the day.
All color guardsmen are welcome to participate in the presentation of colors, mustering at 1:30 both days.
