Color Guard Committee
The Color Guard Committee is led by Ed Cromley and is composed of Compatriots of the West Virginia Society, Sons of the American Revolution who assist and perform at WVSSAR meetings and approved events while properly uniformed as Revolutionary War Soldiers, Militiamen and Patriots. The WVSSAR Color Guard unit is one of the most visible and effective representatives of the Sons of the American Revolution in public and private appearances.

Eagle Scout Committee
The Eagle Scout Committee is led by Ted Cox. The WVSSAR Eagle Scout Committee serves as a liaison between the WVSSAR and the Boy Scouts of America in matters of mutual interest in West Virginia. The WVSSAR Eagle Scout Committee assists with SAR awards and medals to Eagle Scouts, as well as assisting Eagle Scouts in their applications for the SAR Scholarship Awards.

Flag Committee
The Flag Committee is led by Lynn A. Halstead. The WVSSAR Flag Committee serves to recognize and award individuals, companies and government agencies that fly the United States flag for patriotic purposes only in compliance with the US Flag Code.

Genealogy Committee
The Genealogy Committee is led by the WVSSAR State Registrar. We work with applicants and Compatriots to help research their lineage. We will help evaluate qualifications to file a membership application or a supplemental application to document lineage from any number of additional Patriots.
The SAR maintains a comprehensive list of its Genealogy Policies as well as a manual to aid in preparing applications. Both are available at the SAR’s website at http://www.sar.org/Committees/Genealogy.

Point Pleasant Battle Days Committee
The Point Pleasant Battle Days Committee is led by Finlay J. “Jack” Coles. The Point Pleasant Battle Days Committee serves as a liaision between the WVSSAR and the public in assisting with the annual Battle Days Celebration that is held each October to celebrate the important American victory at the Battle of Point Pleasant that occurred on October 10, 1774 between Virginia Militiamen and American Indians at present day Point Pleasant, West Virginia.

Website Committee
The Website Committee is led by Kevin A. Pruitt. The WVSSAR Website Committee works to create, update and add functionality to the WVSSAR website to provide services and resources to the public and to the Compatriot members of the West Virginia Society, Sons of the American Revolution.

WWII Corps Committee
The WWII Corps Committee Committee is led by Frank C. (Joe) Khare Jr. The WVSSAR WWII Corps Committee serves as a liaison between the WVSSAR and the Veterans Administration, and assists in the recognition of the military services rendered by the veterans of the various military services during wartime.
