Death of James E. “Jimmy” Johnson

James E. “Jimmy” Johnson was a member of the SAR since 1973 and a member of the Greenbrier Valley Chapter of the West Virginia Society, Sons of the American Revolution. He was a Past Vice President General of the SAR, a Past President of the West Virginia Society SAR (1985) and a Past President of the Greenbrier Valley Chapter. Death of Bill James Dunfee

Richard D Brockway NSSAR Historian General
The West Virginia Society of the Sons of the American Revolution was honored to have one of its own appointed as National Historian General by President General Brock and approved by the National Trustees at the recent Spring Leadership/Trustee Meeting in Louisville. Richard D. Brockway of White Sulphur Springs, member of the Greenbrier Valley Chapter, was elected to fill the unexpired term as National Historian General.
WVSSAR to receive Admiral William R Furlong Memorial Award
The WVSSAR has fulfilled the requirements for The Admiral William R. Furlong Memorial Award. 100% of the chapters and the state gave certificates in the past year. The award will be given at the annual congress in Louisville in June.

West Virginia History Day at the Legislature February 19, 2015
The Nineteenth Annual West Virginia History Day will be held on Thursday, February 19, 2015 at the West Virginia State Capitol Complex in the Capitol Rotunda. It will be held during the 1st session of the 82nd West Virginia Legislature. There will be many co-sponsors and display booths; event is open to the public.
