Joanne passed away early Wednesday morning, January 21, 2015, at Holzer Medical Center in Gallipolis, Ohio. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of The Deal Funeral Home, 1401 Kanawha St. Point Pleasant, WV, 304-675-6000. The arrangements will be available on Deal’s website on Thursday afternoon.

Joanne S. Sauer
(May 31, 1936 – January 21, 2015)
Joanne S.. Sauer, 78, of Point Pleasant, WV, passed away Wednesday, January 21, 2015, at Holzer Medical Center surrounded by her loving family. She was born May 31, 1936, in Irvona Pa, daughter to the late Michael Salem and Natija Saad Salem. She graduated in 1954 from BCI High School, and also graduated from the Weavers Airline Hostess School. She was an Administrative Assistant for the City of Point Pleasant for twenty-five years, and was a member of the Bellemead United Methodist Church in Point Pleasant.
She is preceded in death by her parents; and brother Sam Salem.
She is survived by her loving husband of fifty-six years, John Sauer of Point Pleasant; one daughter Sandra Pino of Point Pleasant; one sister Janet & (Tom) Sauer of Point Pleasant; one brother Robert Salem & (Dennis) of New Jersey; one grandson John Ross Pino of Hammond, LA; and one granddaughter Jillian Rae Pino of Shady Spring, WV. She will be sadly missed by all.
Funeral services will be held at the Deal Funeral Home in Point Pleasant at 1 P.M. on Sunday, January 25, 2015, with Rev. Chip Bennett officiating. Burial will be in the New Lone Oak Cemetery also in Point Pleasant. Friends may visit the family at the funeral home on Saturday, January 24, 2015, from 5 to 8 P.M.
